Recovery Night at Ripken ⚾💜
August 30th, 2025, was more than just a night at the ballpark — it was a night to remember. As the sun dipped behind the stands on Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium, hundreds of people came together for something truly special: Recovery Night with the Aberdeen IronBirds.
The evening was filled with vibrant energy — laughter echoed through the stadium, purple ribbons waved proudly, and every cheer from the crowd carried the message that recovery is real, and no one walks this path alone.
A Game with a Purpose
Hosted in honor of Overdose Awareness Month, Recovery Night wasn’t just about baseball. It was about bringing our community together — families, friends, and individuals walking their recovery journeys — to celebrate resilience, healing, and the power of connection.
From ceremonial first pitches to high-fives with the team mascot, the evening was packed with unforgettable moments. And while the home runs were exciting, the real win was seeing our community show up and stand together for something bigger than the game.
Stories That Inspire
Throughout the night, we heard powerful stories — quiet conversations in the stands, hugs shared between strangers who’ve walked similar paths, and kids looking up at their parents with pride. These moments remind us why we do this work.
Recovery Night wasn’t just a celebration — it was a statement:
Hope is alive. Recovery is possible. And community is everything.
Thank You to Our Champions
We want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Aberdeen IronBirds for being such incredible hosts and allies in the movement to end stigma and support recovery.
To everyone who came out, wore purple, shared a story, or simply showed support — you made this night unforgettable. Your presence helps create a future where healing is visible, support is accessible, and no one feels alone.
