From Intern to CPRS: Adam Roberts’ Journey of Purpose
At Voices of Hope Maryland, we believe that recovery is more than just a personal milestone—it’s a calling to inspire, guide, and uplift others walking a similar path. Few stories embody this belief more than that of Adam Roberts.
Adam began his journey with us as an intern in our CPRS Training Program through Susquehanna Workforce Network. From the start, it was clear that Adam brought more than just a willingness to learn—he brought heart, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Reflecting on his early days, Adam shared,
"Before entering the program, I was at a point in my recovery where I knew I wanted more for my life. I wanted to help other people struggling with addiction find the same hope that had once been given to me. When I began volunteering at Voices of Hope, I found a community and a purpose."
Over the course of his internship, Adam immersed himself in every opportunity to grow. He engaged deeply with the training process, learned from experienced peers, and applied his skills to help those in need.
"I came into the program with people skills and a big heart, but I left with something deeper—a true understanding of compassion, the ability to meet people exactly where they are, and a strong sense of ethics and professionalism," Adam said.
Today, Adam stands as one of our newest Certified Peer Recovery Specialists—a well-earned recognition of his hard work, perseverance, and commitment to service. His journey from intern to teammate to CPRS graduate is not just a personal achievement—it’s a reminder of what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.
We could not be prouder of Adam’s accomplishments. He has been one of the greatest assets to our team, and we are excited to see the next chapter of his journey unfold.
Congratulations, Adam—you are proof that recovery can be a launchpad for purpose, and we’re honored to have you as part of the Voices of Hope family.
