Voices of Hope is incredibly proud to celebrate Peer Don Mathis, on receiving the 2026 Legacy in Prevention Award from the Harford County Office of Drug Control Policy.

This award was created to recognize β€œindividuals whose vision, leadership, and lifelong commitment to prevention have made a lasting impact on Harford County.”

There is no question that Don embodies that commitment. His passion for recovery, advocacy, and service shines through in everything he does. Don continues to challenge stigma, break down legislative and systemic barriers, and advocate for what is right and what is needed for the people we serve who are seeking a better way of life.
